What is Infant Diarrhea?
Infant Diarrhea is a disease caused by increased number of bowel movements in a baby causing dehydration and making the baby week. Also, other associated symptoms with Infant Diarrhea are fever.

Causes of Infant Diarrhea:
The main cause of Infant Diarrhea is viral gastroenteritis (the "stomach flu"). The flu/virus enters the infant's body due to unhygenic conditions around him.

Cure:
Most important suggestion and life saving solution is rehydrating the baby with commonly found ORS (Oral Rehydration Salts). It is available in all government hospitals for free. It is only possible because of the UNICEF. If you want to help save a life you can donate to UNICEF. Donate Now. www.supportunicefindia.org

Precautions:
1. Clean hands properly before eating anything
2. Clean hands properly after toilet
3. If baby is having outside food, stop it for sometime and give him breast feeding only.
4. Consult a doctor if fever continues to stay in the baby.

Save Environment: Save Water, Paper and Electricity

>> Thursday, November 19, 2009

I saw a poster in my office saying Save Environment: Save Water, Paper and Electricity. What does it mean? Why should I bother about environment?

Here is the answer. The environment is changing everyday. We are not getting proper rainfall. Agriculture is severely affected for that and the food production is highly reduced for that. How can we live without food?

Water level is going down. There will be huge deficit of drinking water. Do you think you can live without drinking water?

Temperature is increasing and it is unbearable during summer. Can you imagine to stay in hot summer where even an Air Conditioner will not be able to protect you from heat?

Energy resources are getting finished. Can you imagine a day without electricity?

Just think about it. One day this situation will come if we don't take the steps now. I know nobody wants to give an earth to their children where they will struggle for these basic needs.

Time has come to take action.

Don't waste water.
1. Take short shower.
2. Don't leave the tap open. Close taps properly.
3. Repair if there is leakage in water pipes.
4. Water the plants with as much water the plant needs, not more.
5. Turn off the water while you brush your teeth.

Don't waste paper. Paper comes from trees. If we cut down more trees for paper production, it has a direct impact on climate.
1. Use one tissue at a time.
2. Take printout only if it is necessary. Think before you print.
3. Use both sides of a sheet.
4. Recycle the paper you use.

Save energy. Save electricity.
1. Switch of all electrical appliances when you are going out of your home or leaving office.
2. Switch off monitor or TV when not in use.
3. Don't use air conditioners much. Use fans instead of AC.
4. Use solar water heater and solar panel as an alternative and renewable source of energy
5. Use 5 watt CFL for bathrooms and toilets
6. Use the microwave instead of the oven for cooking.

Let's act to make a better environment

>> Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Hello Friends,

Life has become very busy now-a-days. We are so busy in our work and personal life that, we hardly find any time for anything else. We never bother about our mother nature.

Everyday pollution is increasing. Due to industrialization, we are cutting lot of trees. Because of that temperature is rising. There is huge decline in rainfall. So many other issues are arising. Have you ever thought about it? Do you think we can do something to better our environment?

Or you want to give our ancestors a polluted, hard to live environment. This is the time to think and act. Let’s join hands to save mother nature.

There are numerous ways we can contribute for creating a better environment. Unknowingly we are doing harm to our environment. We can stop those thing. It needs only awareness.

Have you ever thought about the unfortunate people in our society? Do you think, you can spend half-an-hour in a month for them. If yes, great. If no, put yourself in their position and rethink. Probably this time a 'Yes' will come from your heart.

Find some time out of your busy schedule to meet an orphanage. You will be relaxed. The unfortunates will be very happy to see you. They will live more, dream more and become more with a hearty touch from you. Inspire them and help create better citizens.

In this blog, we will spread this message to everyone. Please post your valuable comments. Also, post your queries. I will try to answer quickly.

Regards,
Banshi.
